Urban Outfitters has announced its plans to create a bridal brand. The new brand (not yet named) will target the high end of the market featuring heirloom gowns, accessories, intimate apparel, decor, and gifts and is expected to launch in early 2011.
They expect on-line sales to be a significant proportion of turnover and will look to leverage their existing expertise in social media. Watch this space....
A number of wedding businesses (and brides) have been hit by a scam bridal exhibition supposed to take place in Boston. Read more. Its a timely reminder to always do your homework before booking exhibitions - although this is the first non-existent show I've heard of, there are many cases of badly promoted shows which are just as much a waste of time and money.
As the traditional arranged marriage in India becomes less common, business is booming for Wedding detectives with anxious parents wanting to check out exactly who their son or daughter plans to marry. |
